Appointment of Non-Executive Director
The Board of Baronsmead Venture Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Fiona Miller Smith as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company and a member of the Audit Committee, Management Engagement & Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee, with effect from 1 September 2021.
Ms Miller Smith is CEO of Barts Charity ("Barts"), a health foundation with a £500m financial investment and commercial property portfolio. Barts funds transformational medical research and innovation in healthcare delivery and technology. Fiona has over twenty five years' experience of investing in and leading growth companies. Her early career was in finance and private equity and she then had a successful entrepreneurial career prior to joining Barts in 2016.
Peter Lawrence, Chairman of the Company, commented on the appointment:
