Morning briefing: Throgmorton delists as BlackRock merger approved; Claverhouse takes its place in FTSE 250; Diverse Income tables votes for open-ended rollover; plus NAS, OIG

BlackRock Throgmorton (THRG) shares have been delisted after shareholders in the £524m investment trust approved its merger with sister trust BlackRock Smaller Companies (BRSC). The resolution to reconstruct and liquidate passed with 91.3% of votes in favour on turnout of 31.4%. BRSC will buy £303m of net assets from THRG shareholders who chose to roll over.

JPMorgan Claverhouse (JCH) will be promoted to the FTSE 250 from tomorrow following the deletion of BlackRock Throgmorton.

Diverse Income (DIVI) has published a circular for two general meetings on 12 May and 26 June for shareholders to vote on the proposed wind-up of the £275m UK equity income trust and rollover into the managers’ open-ended Premier Miton UK Multi Cap Income fund.

North Atlantic Smaller Companies (NAS) said the acquisition of AIM-listed Animalcare Group by Charterhouse Capital Partners offered an 8p, or 1.4%, uplift on its next net asset value (NAV) per share statement for 31 March. Fellow Harwood Capital smaller companies fund Oryx International Growth (OIG) said the transaction implied a 3.2% or 52p NAV per share uplift.
