Gravis bolsters private credit push with Abrdn veteran

The UK-based infrastructure boutique creates a new position for Albane Poulin as part of push to develop new strategies and to help look after its London-listed funds.

Gravis Capital Management has named Albane Poulin as its new head of private credit, which comes as the UK-based boutique aims to bolster its efforts in this area of the alternatives universe.

Poulin joins from Abrdn, where she was most recently head of European private placements, as well as having been lead fund manager on the Secure Income and Cash Flow fund. She spent 12 years with the firm.

In her new role she will oversee Gravis’s activities in private credit across existing funds GCP Infrastructure Investments (GCP ) and GCP Asset Backed Income (GABI ), as well as leading new strategies in this asset class.

Poulin will be based in Gravis’s London office and report to Phil Kent, who is the firm’s chief investment officer.

Commenting on her appointment, Kent said: ‘Her experience in this important asset class will deepen our resource so we can take full advantage of opportunities to build attractive returns for our investors.’

Gravis said the addition of Poulin comes at a time when the company has sought to strengthen personnel in several areas, which include Cameron Gardner being named head of distribution and Ed Simpson being hired as head of energy and infrastructure at the start of last year.

In addition, on the investment side, David Barley joined the firm as investment director focusing on Gravis’s private market impact strategies, and Anthony Curl joined as CIO for the direct investment business in October 2023.
