AIC hits the road: adviser workshops from May to November

Designed as structured CPD and accredited by the CII and CISI.

Ever wondered how investment companies differ from open-ended funds, or how to go about researching them?  Whilst adviser and wealth manager purchases of investment companies have been steadily climbing, and awareness of their benefits clearly increasing, there’s still a strong appetite for more information.

For those advisers ready to learn more, the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) is back on the road next month, delivering free adviser workshops across the country between May and November.

Led by the AIC’s Head of Training Nick Britton, the workshops  are aimed at financial advisers and wealth managers who want a good grounding in the main features of investment companies, or those who need to refresh their knowledge. The events will cover:

  • How investment companies differ from open-ended funds
  • What investment companies can and should be used for
  • Researching and selecting investment companies

Nick Britton, Head of Training, Association of Investment Companies (AIC) said: “We really enjoy getting out and meeting advisers, and it’s not just a one-way street – while they learn about investment companies, we learn about their needs and views on the sector, which helps inform our long-term planning. We are trying to avoid sticking to the well-trodden paths in our training and are visiting several new places this year – we want to keep seeing as many new faces as possible.”
