The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) has added two new features to its website, a podcast directory and data archive, enhancing its investment trust information and data.

Annabel Brodie-Smith, Communications Director of the Association of Investment Companies (AIC), said: “Our website is a one-stop shop which provides investment trust investors with information and insights to help them make better decisions. But we never rest on our laurels and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve. The new podcast directory will help investors find educational and entertaining information about trusts, while the data archive provides ready access to a wealth of detailed investment trust data going back to 2007.”

Podcast directory

The new podcast directory has links to the most popular and informative podcasts that discuss investment trusts. The directory is available at www.theaic.co.uk/news-insights/podcasts.

It includes fireside chats with managers and other experts on the MoneyMakers podcast, hosted by the award-winning journalist Jonathan Davis, and shows from investment analysts and platforms such as Kepler, Edison Group and AJ Bell.

News shows are also included, with podcasts from Citywire and The Armchair Trader, as well as shows produced by investment trust managers focusing on their own trusts or sectors. Silicon Valley Byte Size, from Allianz Technology Trust and Invest in Progress from Scottish Mortgage are two such examples.

“The new podcast directory will help investors find educational and entertaining information about trusts, while the data archive provides ready access to a wealth of detailed investment trust data going back to 2007.”

Data archive

The AIC has also built on its comprehensive investment trust data services by adding a free-to-access archive of all its corporate and industry data sets. These are currently only circulated to those who have signed up to receive them. Now, however, website visitors can access current and historic publications going back to 2007 via a simple web page.

Data sets include corporate activity information, industry overview data and a monthly information release, each providing different degrees of detail on individual funds and snapshots of the investment trust industry as a whole.

The table below summarises the publications that are available within the new data archive.
