QuotedData’s morning briefing 22 August 2024 – JAGI, MIGO, DSM
In QuotedData’s morning briefing 22 August 2024:
- Pauline Ng has become an additional named portfolio manager for JPMorgan Asia Growth & Income (JAGI), working alongside co-managers Robert Lloyd and Ayaz Ebrahim. Pauline joined JPMorgan Asset Management in 2005 and is a country specialist for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) equities and head of the ASEAN team within the Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific (EMAP) Equities team. She also has shared responsibilities for the Global Emerging Markets Social Advancement Strategy. Pauline is based in Singapore.
- Miton Global Opportunities (MIGO) is holding its regular annual realisation opportunity. Shareholders can elect to cash in their shares at a 2% discount to NAV. If they’re interested in taking up the offer, elections need to be made from 27 August to 3 September. Cash should be paid out around 11 September (but that might take a while longer if a lot of shares are offered up for realisation).
- Downing Strategic (DSM) says that all resolutions were passed at its AGM yesterday, including those authorising further share buybacks. So, while the dissenting shareholder has sufficient votes to block a liquidation (based on the voting numbers at the AGM), it seems likely that all almost all of the company’s assets will be distributed to shareholders before any final liquidation vote.
