We’ve changed

The AIC Financial advisers centre has been refreshed, take a look at what's new.

For as long as investment companies have existed, they’ve been changing – a necessary process if you want to survive in a fast-changing world. In its more modest way, the AIC’s Financial advisers centre is no different.

Taking into account your requests and feedback, we have made some adjustments that we hope will make us more presentable, more helpful and more agreeable to spend time with.

  • The data on the investment company profile pages is enhanced with extra performance periods, volatility data, and trading values and volumes
  • You can now set up more than one watchlist. (Didn’t know you could set up a watchlist in the first place? Now you do.) This could be helpful, for example, to monitor the investment companies on your panel, those you might be considering adding, and/or those you might hold in a personal portfolio.
  • We have launched a new online training service, AIC Learning Zone. This is in its early days, and more courses will be added over time. However, there are already four courses on offer, providing three hours of structured CPD accredited by the CII and CISI. Feel free to dive in.
  • There is a new Q&A area making it easy to submit a question about investment companies. So ask away!
  • We have written a series of 21 guides aimed at advisers and wealth managers, covering topics such as the differences between investment companies and OEICs, discounts and premiums, investment company governance, fees and charges, taxation and the difference between UK and offshore investment companies. These will be updated at regular intervals.
  • Last but not least, you’ll notice the Financial advisers centre has a new look and feel, and we are planning further improvements over the coming weeks and months.

Needless to say, if you have any comments or queries on these changes, or if there are further transformations you would like to see, feel free to get in touch either with me or Website and Statistics Director Marie Sadler, who actually did all the work to make the above happen. (She likes positive feedback too.)

The Financial advisers centre exists to make your lives easier – let us know if we’re doing a good job!
