Meet the manager: Charlotte Morris
Portfolio Manager of Pantheon International.
If you weren’t a fund manager, what job would you do?
I’m an airplane geek so maybe in another life I might have been a pilot.
What was the proudest moment of your career?
Becoming the manager of Pantheon International. The role brings together a lot of skills and interests that I have developed throughout my career, and it allows me to engage with an interesting and broad stakeholder universe. No two days are the same and that’s why I love it!
What was the most difficult moment of your career and why?
I have been fortunate to have different opportunities and challenges in my career and the difficult moments have generally come with an opportunity. Either to learn from a mistake, or as a catalyst for change when you realise that you’re in the wrong place. Something that is an ongoing juggle is how hard it is to balance a demanding career with having a family. People don’t tend to talk about it but it is difficult to raise children, be present for them and be a good parent whilst also working in an office full-time.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Everything happens for a reason so don't overthink.
Away from the workplace, how do you spend your time?
I love travelling. Planning holidays, researching places and adventures I want to go on. Showing my boys the world and giving them the travel bug.
Tell us about the last book you read or concert you recently enjoyed?
The last book I read was Yellowface. It's set in the world of publishing but really kept me engaged. There are quite a few twists and turns. It’s an excellent read.
I saw Alanis Morisette in concert last summer, she's a throwback to when I was younger. Actually, I'm going to see her again with Skunk Anansie (another throwback for any indie kids reading!) this summer.
What is your favourite film of all time and why?
The Shawshank Redemption. It's an absolute classic. Brilliant cast, some beautiful cinematography, wonderful themes around friendship and loyalty. And Morgan Freeman's voiceovers are iconic.
In your personal life, what would you like to achieve in the next 12 months?
To survive!
